What happens to your CV and your details when you use our free CV checker.
Who we are
ERUDITE DIGITAL TEAM LTD (RC 8106649), No. 5 Celebration Avenue, Suleja, Niger State, Nigeria. Email: [email protected].
Your CV
Your CV is read by your own browser, on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we never see or store it. The same applies to any job advert you paste in. If you ask us for a CV rewrite, you send us your CV yourself in the WhatsApp chat (see below).
What we save
When you run a check, we save your name, email address, your WhatsApp number (only if you give it; it is optional), the profession you entered, the job title you entered (if any), your consent choice, your score, its band, the “fit for this role” line, your top fixes, a random reference for the check, and the date and time. We also note whether your results email was sent and whether you have unsubscribed. We keep these in a private Google Sheet in our Google account, which Google stores for us. Your results email is sent through Google from that account ([email protected]), with the sender name Erudite Digital Team.
Why we save it
To send you your results and occasional CV tips from Erudite by email and WhatsApp, as you asked when you ticked the box “Send me my results and occasional CV tips from Erudite by email and WhatsApp”. We’ll email you your results straight after the check.
If you ask for a CV rewrite
If you press “Continue on WhatsApp”, WhatsApp opens with a message to us that includes your name, your score and the template you chose. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp until you press send there, and you can change the message first. When you press “Continue on WhatsApp”, we also note it in our private Google Sheet with your name, email, score, the template you chose and the date and time, so we can follow up if your message does not reach us. Your CV is never sent from this page.
If you send the message, we use the chat to agree the price and payment, get your CV from you and send you the rewritten CV. We use your CV only for your rewrite and delete it after we deliver your rewritten CV. Messages on WhatsApp are also covered by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. You can ask us to delete your CV and messages sooner by emailing [email protected].
How to stop
Email: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email from the CV checker. WhatsApp: reply STOP to any message from us. You can also email [email protected] to stop both.
Your rights
Under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see, correct or delete your details, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your details, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it to follow up with you. We delete it sooner if you ask.
